Brewing a single serving of coffee by-hand. Hand Brewing is using your hands to introduce water to ground coffee. The basic equipment for brewing by hand is: water, a way of boiling water, a kettle (or, spouted vessel) to pour the hot-water out of, a cup, this pouch, and, if you’d like, a scale. The scale is there to measure the amount of water poured into the ground coffee suspended in these pouches.
Coffee is made as water flows through the pre ground-coffee into the cup. Water moves through the coffee-grounds and, because of its solvent property, passively acquires compounds as dissolved solutes. Water is poured into the grounds but Coffee drips out of the pouch/filter into the cup. Coffee is a solution - water as its solvent and organic compounds acquired from the coffee-grounds as its dissolved solutes.

To Brew:
In the packet is a pouch with two folded wings. Remove the pouch and once both wings are in your fingertips, slowly spread them apart - away from the pouch - slipping the opposite wings over the opposing sides of the brim of the cup you chose to brew into. Last, lightly rip the seal at the top of the pouch off to expose the already ground coffee. You’re all set, and whenever you and your boiled water are ready, brew!
